NuNETICS: Insights Into the Nature-based Meanings of Qur'anic-Arabic Letters

NuNETICS is a word I coined based on the Arabic letter NuN [pronounced "noon"]. It is represented in the English letter "N" and in both languages that letter means "SEED".

Language grows in the same way that plants grow and, therefore, NuNETICS is the study of how SEED letters produce ROOT words which sprout BRANCHES of knowledge. This study is most important in understanding especially, Qur'anic-based words in that it provides the basis for WHY a word means what it means - going beyond the standard "root word" definitions given by standard scholarship, which are meanings that have unfortunately in many cases been historically manipulated for economic, political and militaristic advantages.

Book by Benjamin Bilal

NuNETICS gives the common person, both Muslim and non-Muslim, a decent grasp on the intricacies of Qur'anic language by identifying each Arabic letter on 3 corresponding levels:

1) as a part of the human body,

2) as an object in the physical environment,

3) as an abstract idea.

As an example, the first letter ALIF is represented in the SPINE as a body part, in the PILLAR of a room or building as an object in the environment and as an abstract AGREEMENT between two which needs to be upheld like the pillar upholds a building and like the spine upholds the body. That meaning is then calculated into the overall description of the word, with the additional root letter(s) allowing the word to then become in effect, a SENTENCE. The meaning is then protected, not by a scholar necessarily, but by G_d through MOTHER NATURE called Al FITRAH in the Qur'anic-Arabic language. Al Fitrah represents the system of interlocking patterns inherent in nature.

All things in nature carry patterns that have been designed by its Creator to carry instructing signs [called ayaat in the Qur'an] which are intended to be read by the human intellect. NuNETICS is a linguistic science which has been developed for beginning, intermediate and advanced students to benefit from and most who have read the book state that they have not read the Qur'an the same way since reading NuNETICS.

About the Author

Benjamin Musheer Bilal is a gifted imam, instructor, linguist, playwright, screenplay writer, author, counselor and motivational speaker who currently resides in the Raleigh, NC area. Born in New York City’s Mount Sinai Hospital on July 16th, 1959, Benjamin was raised as a member of the Hebrew faith until he was 13 years old. At 13, he was exposed to the doctrine of Elijah Muhammad (1897-1975), the late leader of the Lost-Found Nation of Islam in the Wilderness of North America. Upon Mr. Muhammad’s passing in 1975, Benjamin decided to join the fold of followers inherited by Elijah Muhammad’s son, Imam Wallace. D. Mohammed (1933-2008). Imam Mohammed was responsible for sophisticatedly steering the “Nation of Islam” away from its proto-Islamic, racially based ideology to the clear and universal teachings of “Al-Islam” as they are given in the Muslim Sacred Book, the Qur’an.

In addition, Benjamin worked for the NYC Board of Education from 1978 through 1992 teaching African American History and Comparative Religions courses which captivated students (and fellow staff members) at New York City’s West Side Alternative High School.

Between 1985 and present, Benjamin Bilal penned four (4) stage plays, all of which dealt with the important subjects of ethnic pride, interfaith diversity and human cooperation. They are “REMAKE THE WORLD – Reconstruct the Family Life,” “The Evolution Of A Community,” “It’s Wake Up Time!” and the current runaway hit stage production of “’BROTHER IMAM’ – The Life, Leadership & Legacy of Wallace D. Mohammed [son of Elijah Muhammad]” respectively. He has penned 19 books thus far beginning with: NuNETICS – Insights Into Fitrah-based Meanings Of Arabic Letters, The ‘N’ Word—Insights Into the Bastardization of Base Meanings In the English Letter System, and The “Nature” OF Life.

Benjamin Bilal is currently the C.E.O. of Nunetics Institute, Inc., a not-for-profit organization designed to teach the meanings of every Arabic letter, so that the truer meanings of Qur’anic words will be made clearer. The premise of NuNetics is captured in the idea of a TREE. The motto for NuNetics is: “Seed Letters, produce Root words, which sprout into Branches of knowledge!”.

Benjamin (affectionately known as Instructor Bilal) has been teaching a course called the UniverCity Online Learning Course since 2013 which is currently in its 19th semester. Information on how to join can be obtained by emailing him at – nuneticsplus@gmail.com. Request his book list while you are there. (Credit)

Quran & Inductive Reasoning

In logic there are two ways of reasoning: inductive and deductive. Inductive reasoning uses a large number of specific observations to reach a general principle. Deductive reasoning, on the other hand, uses a premise (a general principle assumed as true) to decide what must be true in a specific case. An example of inductive reasoning […]
